Wonder

You are only living life part-way right now.

You need more play.

Your smile has vanished,

Replaced with headaches and tight shoulders.

You used to value fun.

Now you don’t have time for it.

You need to make the time.

No one is going to grant it to you.

It’s as important to smile today as it is to pay your bills.

You no longer wake up with wonder, only dread.

You choose to scroll instead of loving yourself.

Sit still sometimes.

Just be there in silence.

It will recharge you.

Help others.

Spend more time together.

Put down your phone and look at each other.

Hold hands.

Breathe.

Let go enough to laugh until you’re doubled over and tears are streaming down your face.

When’s the last time you did that?

Have fun with your kids.

They are living with a sense of wonder. Follow their lead.

Do everything they do.

They go down a slide; you go down a slide.

Get dirty.

Mud on your shoes.

Paint on your hands.

Dirt on your knees.

Twigs in your hair.

Create something.

Perfection is not important; creativity and imagination are.

Daydream.

Animals are always good for a little joy.

Spark your sense of wonder again.

Think outside the box and try something new.

Be curious.

You haven’t lost your sense of wonder. It’s just buried under the sense of responsibility.

Let go of things that are weighing you down.

Ask yourself, how is this serving me? The answer to that may be, it’s not.

So why are you doing it?

It’s all about balancing obligations with delight.

Your time on this Earth, with this body and soul, is short.

You are spending it heads down when it should be chin up.

There is so much beauty around you.

How much of it are you seeing?

Choose one joyous thing today that you will add to your life.

Then another, then another.

If you are not living with a smile on your face, you are not living.

You have the choice.

It’s what you prioritize.

Prioritize love.

Until next time...

Michele
