From Validation to Sovereignty: Remembering Who You Are

A Whispers from my Wild Soul Post

There’s a quiet, hidden way we abandon ourselves, one that many of us carry without even realizing it:

We make our worth dependent on external validation.

We look to others to tell us we are: worthy, enough, smart, beautiful, good, lovable.

We wait for the praise, for the approval, for the support, for someone to notice and lift us up.

And when that validation doesn’t come —(which, let’s be honest, how often does the world truly give us what we long for?) — we fall.

We slip into the shadows of poor me.

We wonder why no one sees us.

Why no one supports us.

Why we feel so alone.

And in those moments, without realizing it, we hand over our sovereignty.

We forget who we are.

We fall into the trap of victimhood believing our worth is measured by how others respond to us, believing we are powerless when they withhold it.

But here’s the sacred truth waiting underneath:

Your worth was never meant to come from the outside.

It doesn’t live in someone’s approval.

It doesn’t grow when you’re praised or noticed.

It doesn’t diminish when you’re overlooked or misunderstood.

Your worth is intrinsic.

It is the light you carry by simply being here.

It is the truth of your soul, the quiet fire of your spirit, the knowing that you are whole, no matter who claps for you or who walks away.

When we begin to reclaim our sovereignty, we stop outsourcing our worth.

We stop waiting to be chosen.

We stop needing the world to tell us we are good enough.

Instead, we stand — even tenderly, even imperfectly —in the knowing that we are already enough.

That we are already whole.

That we were never meant to be victims of the world’s withholding.

We are the ones we have been waiting for.

And when you begin to live from this place —from sovereignty rather than scarcity, from self-worth rather than self-abandonment —everything changes.

Because you are no longer pulled under when the validation doesn’t come.

You are no longer cracked open by the absence of approval.

You rise, again and again, because you know who you are.

And beloved, that is where your true power lives.

Whispers from My Wild Soul

A blog series of soul remembering, healing, and transformation

These are the quiet truths that rise up when we slow down.

Reflections from the threshold of midlife, where the old stories begin to fall away and the wild soul stirs awake. Here, I write from the heart—about crone wisdom, spiritual awakening, and the rituals that root me to the Earth and to myself. These whispers are an invitation to return home to your own wise, wild soul.
