The lesson I learned…
Judge and be judged.
Judgment is a double-edged sword.
You can’t cast judgment
without hearing judgment from others,
even when they aren’t judging you.
You become your own worst critic.
You feel the need to justify your every move.
You defend every choice and every decision you make.
To avoid being judged.
People judge to make themselves feel better
about their lives, choices, circumstances.
If you are being judged, please know,
it has nothing to do with you
and everything to do with the one judging.
If you are the one judging,
consider your judgments.
How do you relate to them?
What is making you uncomfortable?
Look inward,
to find what it is that you want to change,
about yourself.
Overcoming the lesson…
Now,
I try not to judge.
Myself,
or others.
I slip up occasionally, but I'm mindful of it.
As Mother Teresa said,
“If you judge people, you have no time to love them.”
That includes yourself.
Until next time…
Michele
